autumnal turning

days undo themselves
into night––

leaves abandon trees
to follow the light
into the ground

time turns upside-
down––

tendrils of cold
surround a descending
star––

beauty
comes softly
like a bride
in perfect
white fur
slippers

the sky hardens
into a mirror
of cerulean
blue

to awaken the sun
on a glittering horizon
in our hallelujah
hearts
