like a weeping man
abandoned on a
palm tree island
that no one can
hear?
like a salmon swimming
up-stream avoiding
bear claws?
like a sky without lightning
indifferent to
pain?

Like an antenna, with no TV, tingling without reception.
Like a palm tree island deserted by man, unable to weep.
Like bear claws trying to avoid the steel trap.
Like lightning indifferent, burning a painful hole in the sky.
