The mystery is over
And the time for silent events is come.
One day not long ago
I remembered having known you.
We were two unison souls.
Alone on the edge of oblivion.
The place was green
The time...was
Blue.
In being born
These things
Were somehow
Forgotten.
In that place
Where there is kindness
There is sure evidence
That love is very near.
Here
Among these trees whose leaves
Are falling
I have found this man
Saeed
And he is very kind.
Beneath the shadows of concrete vainglory
There wandered the forms
Of two quite different gentlemen.
One tall,
One not so tall.
One fair,
The other not so fair.
By all appearances
Strangers.
Wandering together
Along a cheerless New York street at midnight
One grim observer to another,
In the dark,
“These two are by no means related,
Yet strangely,
Strangely,
They laugh as brothers
In the dark of the moon.”
In this time
In this place
And for these very short
moments
We sit and talk together
Of many things
Yet however long we speak
And however much we learn
There are things
Which we have known
Between us
Since sometime
Very near
The beginning.
